Akornefa Akyea

Akornefa’s journey in admissions started as an undergraduate student at Columbia University where she worked as a tour guide and held a leadership role with the Multicultural Recruitment Committee, supporting diversity recruitment. After graduating, she worked as an admissions counselor at Bates College in Maine and supervised student workers. Following admissions, she moved to New York to work at various nonprofit arts organizations like WNYC, Afropop Worldwide and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). She is very excited to be back home in Madison, reconnect with the local community and find musicians to jam with.
