Bobbie Jean Huerth
Position title: System Liaison and Senior Admissions Consultant
Bobbie Jean earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a major in English. Earning a liberal arts degree with a focus in English has made Bobbie Jean a strong critical thinker and a thoughtful communicator. These skills serve her well in her role as Associate Director of Admission Services where she leads and directs our strategy for reviewing applications.
Bobbie Jean is from Marinette County in the northeast corner of Wisconsin. She is the daughter of a paper mill employee and a special education teacher. Even though she is not technically a first generational college student, she very much identifies with challenges first generation students face as her mother didn’t earn her bachelors degree until Bobbie Jean was 17 years old. There was so much about the traditional college-going experience her mother didn’t identify with that Bobbie Jean had to learn to navigate on her own.
She is a very competitive person who enjoys strategy and loves board games, card games, and trivia contests.
Bobbie is a classic type A personality who can identify with the applicants out there who strive for perfection are are dedicated to submitting that perfect essay. She would like to ease concerns and share that “There isn’t a perfect essay. Simply share your authentic voice and why you are interested in studying at Wisconsin.”
“I enjoy working in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment for the opportunity to work with a great team who is dedicated to serving students and families wanting to learn more about the University of Wisconsin–Madison. I love that I get to work with high school counselors and advisors who are passionate about higher education.”
