I chose to attend UW–Madison because I knew I wanted to attend a large R1 university that would offer me many opportunities to grow. This school really embodies the motto of “work hard, play hard”, which I think is something uniquely Madison. It’s clear that students here value and prioritize their academics, but they also make time to have fun, get involved, and enjoy their college experience. I love being surrounded by people who are as ambitious as I am but still know how to “let their hair down.” The campus itself also played a large role in my decision to attend the school. I took one look at the terrace and Lake Monona, and knew that this is where I would be spending the next four years of my life.

My biggest piece of advice for a Future Badger is to take a tour of the campus and attend a prospective student day if possible. I found those events as really great ways to get to a feel for the university, ask questions, and get information that would help me make my decision.
