The cost of attending a university can be a major factor in deciding whether you will attend.
The Office of Student Financial Aid is here to help you and your family as you navigate financing your education both as a future student and as a current student. They are the experts on all things financial aid and scholarships at UW–Madison and offer a variety of programs, information sessions, and additional services to make paying to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison as accessible and affordable as possible.
At UW–Madison, we offer both need- and merit-based aid. Financial aid is determined using the Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is completed each year and evaluates federal aid eligibility, and the CSS Profile, completed only as an entering new student, which determines institutional aid eligibility.
