Madison College Scholars of Promise students who are admitted to the University of Wisconsin–Madison for an on-campus undergraduate degree are guaranteed to have their tuition and fees covered by a financial aid promise program for up to four semesters while they continue on to complete a bachelor’s degree at UW–Madison.
Scholars of Promise apply as transfer students and will be considered through our holistic admissions process.

Bucky’s Tuition Promise
First announced in February 2018, Bucky’s Tuition Promise is a commitment to Wisconsin resident students that guarantees scholarships and grants to pay for tuition & segregated fees for students whose household adjusted gross income (AGI) is $60,000 or less. Incoming transfer students will receive four semesters (2 years) of free tuition & segregated fees.
Badger Promise
Originally announced in February 2017, the Badger Promise is a commitment to Wisconsin resident, first-generation college students who have successfully transferred from any of the two-year UW Branch campuses (formerly UW Colleges) or from liberal arts associate degree programs at Madison College (Madison Area Technical College). Those students who have shown Federal Pell Grant eligibility will receive grant/scholarship aid of up to four semesters of in-state tuition and segregated fees
Bucky’s Pell Pathway
The program is designed to assist Badgers from low-income Wisconsin households pay for college through a combination of grants, scholarships and work-study. It includes a commitment to meeting full financial need without loans for incoming transfer students for two consecutive years.
