My Name is Fiona. I am a Junior Majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders wanting to go into the field of Speech language pathology! I am from a small town on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin, about two hours south of Madison, Antioch, Illinois! Outside of School I love being active, working out, being outside, hanging out with friends and family!
My favorite memory/favorite tradition is at all the football games Sweet Caroline comes on and everyone sings it together, and the song is nostalgic to me as it was a song I grew up with, while mixing in the bittersweetness of feeling the close-knit community of being a Badger!
One piece of advice, and something I would say to incoming students at UW-Madison, is to not be scared to get involved and trying something completely new or out of your comfort zone! Putting myself out there even when I have felt nervous to try something new has benefitted me in numerous ways here at UW. Whether it was finally scheduling that advising appointment to figure out the next steps to my career, or joining a brand new club where I knew no one, these experiences have led me to creating long lasting friendships, community and making a new place that once made me feel so anxious my home, where I cannot imagine being somewhere else!
